Here’s a great still I just received in the mail from Chuck Harter (yes, THE Chuck Harter, co-author of the wonderful LITTLE ELF book!). The photo was published after his death and may be one of the last publicity photos of him released at that time.
Remember the funny little comedian with the baggy pants and screwy hat who kept moviegoers in stitches all through the twenties? Yes, it’s Harry Langdon, one of the all-time great comedians of the screen. And he’s back in the limelight again – in Republic’s “Swingin’ On A Rainbow,” with lovely Jane Frazee. Langdon has abandoned the zany wardrobe for smarter garb, and he’s even got a mustache now. But he’s still Harry Langdon and still funny.
Off the screen the comedian has devoted himself to radio and screen writing for the past ten years.
