I am quite passionate about a few things in life; mainly photography, sustainable living, and silent film; primarily silent comedy.  I have my father to thank for introducing me to the wonderful world of slapstick; in which I grew up watching Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, and Keystone comedies.  The typical “greats” always made me laugh, but when I saw my first Langdon short, I was captivated by his style and could somehow strangely relate to him.  Being in my late twenties when I finally discovered Harry’s work, I was amazed at how long he had evaded me, and how his name eventually drifted into mere obscurity with most of the population.  Ever since that fateful day, I’ve been trying to consume as much of his work as possible, and to spread the word to finally make Harry Langdon a household name.

Many thanks to all those you generously contributed to the creation of this website.  Without all the photos, essays, memorabilia, and knowledge that were so kindly offered, this site would not exist.  A special thank you to Rob Farr, Chuck Harter, Michael Hayde, Bernie Hogya, Taylor Horsley, David Kalat, Steve Massa, Ben Model, Joe Moore, James Neibaur, David Ort, Steve Rydzewski, Camille Scaysbrook, Bill Schelly, Sal Salonia, Dave Stevenson, Brent Walker, and Ed Watz.

This site was created as a tribute to the late, great, Harry Langdon.  Not only is Feet of Mud one of Langdon’s 1924 shorts, I also found it a fitting description of the comedian.  After spending well over a score in Vaudeville, he turned the comedy world on its ear when he joined the motion pictures in 1923.  While physical comedy had been around for ages, Langdon made it his own.

Best known as a photographer and avid outdoorsman, Tim Greer has spent the past 14 years photographing a wide array of subjects and places. His interest and passion for photography has taken him to 13 countries thus far. To sample some of his work, please visit: http://camerafamosa.com.
